Vietnam Rattan Core (Ruột Mây) is the inner pith material extracted from whole rattan poles, processed into smooth uniform strands used primarily for weaving, wrapping, and binding in furniture and handicraft production. Sourced from rattan forests across northern Vietnam, rattan core is one of the most important secondary materials in the global rattan supply chain.
Unlike whole rattan poles, rattan core has a soft fibrous texture that makes it highly pliable and easy to weave into intricate patterns. It is the material of choice for seat weaving, backrest weaving, decorative frame wrapping, basket making, and a wide range of handcrafted home décor and lifestyle products.
Available in three forms — round natural, round bleached, and flat natural — each suited to different production requirements and aesthetic preferences. Round core is ideal for general weaving and frame wrapping. Flat core is preferred for tight structured weave patterns. Bleached core offers a clean bright-white finish that suits modern and Scandinavian-style furniture designs.
All rattan core is graded to tight diameter tolerances of ±0.2mm, ensuring consistent and reliable quality across batches. Packed in coiled bundles of 25kg or 50kg per PP woven bag. Available year-round with flexible MOQ.
